VCT Ascension EMEA 2024: Play-Ins, Dates, Format and Tickets
It’s almost time… VALORANT Ascension EMEA is starting soon!
With VALORANT Challengers Stage 2 about to conclude, we want to share further information with you on what can be expected from this year’s VCT Ascension EMEA, which will see both the Lower Final and Grand Final take place at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin!
VCT Ascension EMEA will see the winning team compete in VCT EMEA next year, giving them the opportunity to reach the pinnacle of VALORANT Esports and reach the international stage via VALORANT Masters and/or VALORANT Champions.
Last year, French outfit Gentle Mates lifted the trophy through a convincing Lower Bracket run, which ended with a 3-0 Grand Final victory against Challengers North: Polaris’ Apeks. Since then, they have had some solid showings in VCT EMEA, beating both BBL Esports and Team Vitality 2-0 this season.
The Path to Pro is continuing to showcase the best talent on the biggest stages in VALORANT Esports, and we can’t wait to see which team makes it to VCT EMEA for 2025! More than 80 teams across nine leagues participated in the regular season this year, and now they have been narrowed down to just 18, which will become ten following Play-Ins. Read on for all the information on dates and format!
VCT Ascension EMEA: Format
The format for VCT Ascension EMEA remains unchanged from last year with the exception of group stage games, which will now be best-of-3 (BO3) instead of best-of-1 (BO1).
VCT Ascension will consist of three stages in total, beginning with the Play-Ins tournament, featuring all second-placed teams across our nine Challengers Leagues. Only the winner of the Play-Ins will progress to the main tournament.
After this, the nine Challengers League winners and the Play-Ins winner will be randomly seeded into two groups of five. Each team will play a BO3 against all other teams in a round robin format.
The two top-placed teams from each group will then advance into a double elimination bracket. These games will also be BO3, with the exception of the Lower Final and Grand Final, which will be best-of-5 (BO5).
VCT Ascension EMEA: Dates
VCT Ascension EMEA Play-ins will start on July 28 and conclude on July 31. The VCT Ascension EMEA’s Group Stage will then begin a month later on August 31, running through to September 4, with all games held online.
The Playoffs will then begin on September 7, with the first set of games taking place on September 7 and 8 online. The first set of games will include both Semifinals, the Upper Bracket Final, and the first round of the Lower Bracket.
The Lower Final and Grand Final of the Playoffs will then take place a week later in-person at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin on September 14-15. The victorious team will then earn the right to compete at the prestigious venue throughout 2025!
