With VCT Pacific Kickoff now behind us, fans can get ready to support our Pacific representatives, Gen.G and Paper Rex, at Masters Madrid.
But it's not over for our other teams, the Pacific season is just getting started!
VCT Pacific Stage 1 will soon begin with teams gearing up for more high stakes matchups and a chance to represent the region at our second global event of the year, Masters Shanghai.
Following Masters Shanghai, the excitement continues with VCT Pacific Stage 2, where teams will battle for a spot at Champions 2024 and a share of the USD 250,000 total prize pool.
We are also thrilled to announce that VCT Pacific Stage 1 and 2 will be held at Coex Artium.
The location for our Stage 2 Grand Finals will be announced at a later date.
STAGE 1 & 2 FORMAT
In Stage 1, teams will be randomly split into two groups, with five teams in group Alpha and six teams in group Omega. Alpha teams will face off against Omega teams in a single round-robin, best-of-three series. The top three teams from each group will advance to the Playoffs. With only three qualifying slots, teams will navigate a double elimination bracket to secure their seat at Masters Shanghai.
Teams will also earn a Championship Point for each match won, with the winner of Stage 1 receiving three additional Championship Points. These points will contribute to their qualification for Champions 2024 at the end of the season.
Stage 2 will maintain the same Alpha and Omega groupings as Stage 1, but this time, teams will compete against those from their own groups. The top six teams with the best performance over the course of Stage 1 and 2 will advance to the Stage 2 Playoffs.
Securing a spot at Champions 2024 will require a top three finish at the Stage 2 Playoffs or accruing the most Championship Points. Check out our format explainer video for a refresher on this year’s VCT Pacific format.
As things stand, Gen.G currently has three points from winning VCT Pacific Kickoff.
