Riot Games and GRID have partnered to release the VALORANT Data Portal (VDP) - the official home for all VALORANT in-game data. The VDP provides a new automated platform allowing pro teams access to detailed data from official esports matches and scrims.
The data portal for League of Legends Esports launched in 2021 and received great feedback from the professional teams who utilized the portal. The data was also used in community AWS GameDay: Lolesports Edition events during the LoL World Championship in 2022 where members of the community came together to participate in hackathon-like activities using esports data. The successes seen through the years has laid the foundation for how official in-game data can benefit the VALORANT Esports ecosystem.
As VALORANT Esports enters into its third year, ensuring the integrity of the sport is one of the biggest priorities. A core part of the GRID partnership is to offer an official source of truth to the community for VALORANT data. Additionally, Riot Games works with agencies to monitor all official matches for potential integrity risks as part of our holistic efforts to ensure an even playing field for all teams.
Providing access to official data is a critical part of ensuring the sustainability and growth of the VCT ecosystem. Building the VALORANT Data Portal with GRID is the first step in making official VCT in-game data accessible to the broader ecosystem. Access has been provided to the VCT professional teams first to ensure the needs of VDP users are being met, with plans to expand access to more teams and partners in the future.
