The offseason has been full of excitement. Now, we cannot wait to get the 2025 VALORANT Esports season underway with a new expanded competitive calendar stretching from January to October.
And it all starts, appropriately, with the return of the VCT EMEA Kickoff starting January 15. The event will be bigger and better than ever, as EMEA’s 12 best teams compete to not only set the tone for the year, but also to secure one of two spots at the VALORANT Masters Bangkok!
Moving away from last year’s Group Stages, 2025 will instead see all 12 teams thrown straight into a double-elimination bracket featuring best-of-threes and best-of-fives. The four teams who qualified for the 2024 VCT Champions - Fnatic, Team Vitality, FUT Esports and Champions finalists Team Heretics - will receive an automatic bye into the second round.
There will be immediate stakes and plenty to play for with the Kickoff’s top four teams receiving Championship Points, and the top two also qualifying for Masters Bangkok in February.
And, there’s even more on the line for our newest team Apeks, who won promotion by becoming the Ascension 2024 champions, as well as the team that denied them promotion at Ascension 2023, Gentle Mates. With the changes to the Ascension system, these two teams now have the chance to extend their stay in VCT EMEA thanks to the new performance based criteria.
All the breathtaking action from the VCT EMEA Kickoff Tournament will stretch across four weeks with start times of 6PM CET starting January 15. The full schedule is as follows:
Week 1: January 15 - 17
Week 2: January 22 - 24
Week 3: January 29 - 31
Week 4: February 7 - 9
It’s important to note while game weeks 1-3 will see matches on the usual schedule of Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, Week 4 is different. To maximise the hype and excitement for the finals, Week 4 will see games played on a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday instead. In fact, Grand Finals will always take place on Sundays throughout 2025!
If you want to join us for all the action in the Riot Games Arena in Berlin, you’ll want to act fast as tickets for the first three weeks go on sale at 6PM on Thursday, December 19, and can be purchased from https://emeatickets.valorantesports.com/ for 12 € apiece!
Tickets for the lower final will cost 20 € each and 25 € for the final, and will go on sale on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 6PM CET.
