After an exhilarating 2024 filled with intense matches, thrilling roster changes, and the rise of new talents in VCT Pacific, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the fans who made this past season one for the books. We’re refreshed and ready to dive into 2025, with even more unforgettable moments and fierce competition on the horizon.
Apart from fighting for the prestige to represent the Pacific at global events, teams will also be battling for a share of the USD 250,000 total prize pool.
We have some exciting changes coming to Pacific this year, with two new teams joining the mix and spicing up the competition - Nongshim RedForce and BOOM Esports. Their addition promises fresh matchups and intense rivalries, setting the stage for an unforgettable season ahead.
We have already announced the changes to our VCT 2025 season HERE. But to recap the main changes:
We are expanding the season to ensure we maintain a steady cadence of matches for teams throughout the year while providing fans with a more robust match schedule to enjoy.
Championship Points make their return in 2025, albeit with a slight tweak. This time, more teams can earn points through Global events, unlike this year when only the Masters winners received them. At the end of the season, in addition to the two teams qualifying through the Stage 2 Playoffs, two more teams with the highest Championship Points will also secure spots at Champions, rewarding consistently strong performances throughout the season.
We start our season with VCT Pacific Kickoff between 18 January to 9 February. Teams will battle through a 12-team double elimination format across 12 days. The 4 teams that qualified for Champions 2024 will be seeded into the second round of the Upper Brackets, the two teams from Ascension 2024 will be placed on opposite sides of the bracket, and the remaining teams will be placed through a random draw
The top 2 teams from VCT Pacific Kickoff will qualify for Masters Bangkok, our first global event for 2025, and the first-ever global event to be held in Southeast Asia.
Stage 1
In this stage, all teams will be divided into two groups of 6 based on their performance in Kickoff, and will compete in a Single Round Robin format within their own groups. From there, the top 4 teams from each group will progress to the Playoffs, where they’ll compete in a double-elimination bracket. This will determine the top 3 teams who qualify for Masters Toronto.
Stage 2
Following the conclusion of Masters Toronto, teams return to international league competition within their respective regions. In Stage 2, the two groups from Stage 1 will be reshuffled based on each teams’ placements from the Stage 1 group stage.
After a draw, either the first or second placed team in each group will switch groups, as will the third or fourth-placed team, followed by the fifth or sixth-placed team. This reshuffling is designed to maintain a competitive balance throughout the tournament.
Once more within their groups, teams go through a Single Round Robin and the top 4 from each group will advance to the Playoffs and battle for two Champions 2025 qualification spots as well as to become kings of Pacific!
Two additional teams will also qualify for Champions via Championship points accumulated throughout the season.
VCT Pacific Kickoff will begin on 18 January and will run until 9 February. Matches will begin at 15:00 GMT+7 // 16:00 GMT+8 // 17:00 GMT+9 each matchday.
