The 2022 VALORANT Champions Tour season start is right around the corner! Across the world, regional Challengers events and Open Qualifiers for the 2022 VALORANT Champions Tour are kicking off! This year teams will battle across two stages of Challengers, two global Masters tournaments, and the gauntlet of Last Chance Qualifiers to earn one of sixteen spots at Champions.
Stage 1 VCT Challenger Start Dates:
Two new agents, Neon and Chamber, will make their competitive debut over the course of the coming weeks. While Chamber is enabled for all competitions, Neon will be eligible for competitive play in qualifiers and events that begin after January 25th.
Global Events Qualification
This year, Masters events will feature the top 12 teams from regional Challengers competition. Each region is guaranteed at least one spot, with larger regions receiving additional slots based on their player populations and competitiveness. Additionally, we’ll see the best teams in LATAM and Brazil compete for a second slot prior to each Masters, while South Asia and Oceania will have a pathway to Masters through the APAC Playoffs.
Champions will be the largest event of the season, with sixteen teams qualifying through VCT Challengers points and Last Chance Qualifiers.
Finally, in order to encourage the inclusion of Game Changers Alumni within teams competing in the VCT, a maximum of one Game Changers Alumni on a team’s starting roster will be counted as a resident of the team’s home region for the purpose of fulfilling the Regional Roster Requirement. A Game Changers Alumni is defined as a player that has competed on the starting roster of a team in at least five matches of an official VALORANT Game Changers Series.
