From Ludwig x Tarik to Red Bull Home Grounds, whether you’re fan or a player, there is a lot to look forward to during the VCT OFF//SEASON.
After the conclusion of Champions, the calendar is full of new and returning events that will keep you entertained until the VCT begins in January. The OFF//SEASON is meant to not only help teams to test and develop their rosters, but also to provide an opportunity for tournaments to experiment with new formats and competitions. This year, we’ll see the return of 4 ASCENSION tournaments, new Challengers competitions, 30+ OFF//SEASON events, and the Game Changers World Championship.
Later this fall, we'll also share details of the mixed-gender tournaments debuting during the OFF//SEASON. These tournaments will aim to boost diversity and inclusion, giving everyone a chance to compete and shine together. This initiative aims to inspire the next generation of players and set a new standard for competitive integrity and inclusivity.

First up - Ascension. We’ll see top Challenger teams battle for a chance at promotion into the International Leagues. Four distinct tournaments will whittle down the competition to a single Champion. These teams will then earn the right to compete at the top tier of the sport, get a chance to qualify for global events like Masters and Champions, and a shot to defend their spot through a strong performance in 2025. Read more about the mechanics and updates to Ascension here.
Region Specific details about Ascension:
VCT Ascension Americas (Sept 9 - 21)
VCT Ascension EMEA (Aug 31 - Sept 15)
VCT Ascension PACIFIC (Sept 20 - 29)

Across our major territories and regions, we’re excited to announce the initial batch of tournaments, competitions, and show matches that will begin starting in September. Over the coming weeks, we’ll share details about additional events as they get finalized.

Challenger Leagues exist for those who aspire to go pro. This year, more than 40 Challenger players were picked up by International League teams and more than 40 teams from Premier qualified into Challenger Leagues across the globe. There were also 3 teams who started the year in Premier, fought their way through Challengers, and will represent their regions at Ascension 2024. Massive congratulations to Riddle Order from Japan, PCIFIC Esports from Turkiye, and Sin Prisa Gaming from Korea. If watching Champions has inspired you to test the ceiling of your competitive ability, you can begin your journey in-game via the Premier mode.
This year’s Off//Season window will feature new Challenger tournaments that will bridge the gap between the 2024 and 2025 seasons. After the conclusion of Ascension, top Challenger and Premier teams will compete for prizing and recognition during the critical free agency period.
